London Transport Museum Poster Art 150

Posted: May 30 2013

We braved the rain and half term scrum this week to visit the London Transport Museum to see its POSTER ART 150 exhibition. Despite being tucked away and rather cramped it was a great display of the iconic artwork and the artists they have used over the years.

Our favourite and has been for a long time is the tiger one below right by the great Abram Games. Games designed over 100 posters for the underground in his time as well as designing for the BBC and designing the logo for the Festival of Britain.

The museum also holds the original gouache artwork for the Tiger poster as well as the Tate paint poster above in the main museum space as well as some nice print work of leaflets and booklets.

Games also went to school down the road from nook at Hackney Downs School!

Some more posters by Games including a Photo of him at work. For More info see
