Sanna Annukka for Marimekko
Posted: Jul 22 2014
We have been fans of Sanna Annukka's work for some time, the Finnish/British printmaker and textile designer was born in Brighton but spent many holidays in Northern Finland and remains inspired by these visits which influence much of her work. Sanna's work combines pattern, decoration and mythology, especially that of the Sami people from Lapland.
Dividing her time between her own projects and designing textiles and ceramics for, Marimekko, we love her most recent collection for the Finnish design house. This colourful design, Kukkuluuruu (meaning 'peek-a-boo!'), features illustrations of birds and animals inspired by the wildlife of the rich Scandinavian forests, and will brighten up any home.
